ABOUT ME

My name is Sophie Rosenthal. I currently work as a digital editor at WUSA9, the local CBS affiliate station in Washington, D.C. As a digital editor, I write breaking news stories and daily news briefs, as well as help run social media profiles, clip videos of our broadcast news and work on streaming shows.

I graduated from Elon University in May 2024 with a bachelor of arts in journalism and a minor in policy studies. At Elon University's student-run news organization, Elon News Network, I spent four years working as a reporter and copy editor. I served as the managing editor of The Pendulum, the school’s weekly student newspaper. I was born and raised in New York City and interned at two local news stations there, Spectrum News NY1 and WPIX PIX11 News.
